Wearing regalia is both traditional and required for student participation in the procession and ceremony of the university’s Commencement.
The deadline to pre-order online is April 15. Your cap & gown order will include all regalia pieces appropriate for your degree.

Cap & gown distribution takes place on campus the week of graduation. The company rep brings all pre-ordered outfits to distribute, as well as a large supply of regalia available for walk-ins.
To receive cap & gown, TAKE STUDENT ID and go to Teagle Hall on any of these dates:

You may have a friend pick up for you. Give friend a copy of your order confirmation email (or send text/email to your friend with your full name, height, college) for your friend to show the rep that you gave him/her permission to pick up for you.
|If you pre-ordered online, your pre-packaged outfit will be ready for you to pick up. Show your student ID to receive the outfit you ordered.||If you missed the pre-order deadline, stand in the walk-in order line to request cap & gown in person. Show your student ID to the company rep, who will assemble an outfit for you.
You will need to pay the rental cost, plus $12 late fee, at the time of your walk-in order.
Graduates MUST return rented gowns and hoods by 5:00pm Commencement Day (Sunday) at one of the collection centers on campus:

B-Lot (parking lot near Vet College)
Each cap & gown rental order contains a full set of regalia with the pieces, styles, and colors appropriate to the degree being conferred.
Cap – All mortar boards and soft tams are one-size-fits-all, so no measuring is necessary when ordering. The appropriate cap style will be supplied with regalia orders. Caps may be tastefully decorated and kept as a souvenir.
Tassel – Tassel color represents one’s conferring college, and may be kept as a souvenir. In addition to the free detachable tassel, students have an option to purchase a Cornell red & white souvenir tassel, and are welcome to wear both tassels on their caps at graduation.
Gown – The gown style represents the degree being conferred. Students must know their height when placing their order. Gowns must be returned.
Hood – A hood is part of graduate degree regalia (no hoods for undergraduate degrees) and represents one’s field of study. An appropriate hood will be supplied with graduate degree orders. Hoods must be returned.
